Township Government
Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer, and 4 Trustees elected at large. Township Board meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at Redford Town Hall, 15145 Beech Daly Road, Redford, Michigan 48239. Redford has 20 voting precincts with 40,870 registered voters (as of 3/29/2023).

Community Development Department
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), are allocated to Redford Township annually and used to fund projects such as Housing Rehabilitation, Dial-A-Ride, Senior Citizen Programming, Youth Services, Park Improvements, etc. In addition, our local neighborhood revitalization initiative, Stabilizing Neighborhoods Action Plan (SNAP) Program, is designed to redevelop, rehabilitate or demolish properties in residential neighborhoods throughout Redford Township. Qualified home buyer applicants may receive financial assistance toward the purchase of a newly rehabilitated home.
Department of Public Services
This department is responsible for the coordination and general supervision of the Township Departments of Water and Sewer, Sanitation, Public Works, Central Maintenance, and Building and Safety Engineering. The Department enforces compliance with statutes, ordinances, codes, and resolutions adopted by the Township Board. In addition, the Department coordinates special projects as designated by the Township Board and provides auxiliary services to the Site Committee, Planning Commission, and Zoning Board of Appeals.
Recreation
18-hole public golf course (Glenhurst Golf Course), 4 Community Parks, 5 Neighborhood Parks, 3 Mini-Parks, 1 ice Arena, and 1 Community Center. Amenities include 1 newly built bathroom and concession area, 1 renovated bathroom facility, 3 lighted adult softball diamonds, 2 unlighted softball diamonds, and 1 light baseball diamond. 7 Little League diamonds, 2 sand volleyball courts, 3 soccer fields, 3 picnic shelters, 8 lighted tennis courts, 1 unlighted tennis court, 3 fitness/jogging/rollerblading trails, 3 enclosed roller hockey/rollerblading areas, 2 Community gardens, 1 Nature garden, 1 skatepark, 1 splash pad. New additions will include 1 multi-sports complex with tennis, basketball, and skate park. Facilities, equipment, and programs meet ADA accessibility guidelines, and continually upgrading all facilities to ensure this.
Schools
There are 3 school districts in Redford Township. Clarenceville School District encompasses several blocks in the northwest corner of Redford Township and none of their schools are within the township boundaries. Redford Union School District Number 1 has 1 preschool program, 3 elementary schools, 1 elementary day-treatment program, 1 middle school, 1 high school, and an alternative education program. Total enrollment is 3,193. South Redford School District has an early education childhood center, 4 elementary schools, 1 middle school, and 1 high school. Total enrollment is 3,390. There are also 7 private schools.

Transportation
Dial-A-Ride has four new buses and 1 van in 2016 operating within Redford Township, Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm reservations are required a minimum of 48 hours in advance by calling 313-387-2784. SMART also has bus service routes along Beech Daly Road and Telegraph through Redford Township.
