Redford Township relies on several boards and commissions to run smoothly. Volunteer commissions cover a broad range of areas, from zoning and parks to diversity initiatives. The Beautification Commission is composed of Redford Township residents whose mission is to restore, preserve, and enhance the beauty of the Charter Township of Redford. The volunteer organization arranges several community events focused on improving the landscape of Redford Township. Meetings are on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm at Town Hall. This Board reviews appeals for residents' assessments of their properties. Residents who want to go before the board must make an appointment through the Assessor's Office ahead of the meetings, which take place in March of each year. Please contact the Board of Review at 313-387-2730.
Brownfield Redevelopments cover the revitalization of sites that are considered contaminated from past operations. This committee meets at the Community Center yearly and reviews the budgeted monies from Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for distribution in federally sanctioned areas. More information is available through the Housing/Community Development Department.

This commission was created to address issues of inequity and to promote inclusion in Redford Township. The commission meets at 7 pm on the first Monday of each month.
This authority aims to help the Redford Township community in revitalizing and developing its downtown. The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) meets at Town Hall as needed to determine the best use of funds collected for this purpose. This committee is responsible for organizing community events to honor national holidays, events, and memorials. Learn more by visiting the committee's social media.
The Historical Commission works to gather and preserve historical materials of the township and surrounding region, and to participate in efforts that relate to and honor the township's past. The commission may also acquire ownership and control of landmarks of the township with the funds budgeted by the Redford Township Board of Trustees. The commission meets at 6 p.m. at the museum on the second Thursday of the following months: January, March, May, July, September, and November. This board manages affairs for the Redford Township District Library. It was created through the vote of the residents of Redford Township and meets monthly. For more information, visit the Library's website.
This commission was created to work with the Detroit Edison Company in lighting the streets of Redford. The commission meets as needed regarding lighting around the township.

The Parks Commission works to address the parks and recreational needs of all ages within the Township. Meetings take place on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6 pm at the Community Center. To put an item on the agenda, please reach out by the Wednesday before each meeting.

The Planning Commission meets at 7 pm on the first Thursday of the month at the Town Hall, and at the Public Services Building in December.

This board was created through a vote of the people to administer the pensions of the Redford Township Police and Fire Department members. The board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 3 pm in Town Hall.

This Board reviews the Housing Rehab Program applications for loans or grants and determines if the criteria have been met for approval. The funds used for loans and grants are provided by Community Development Block Grant Dollars. The Board meets at the Community Center as needed.

This Committee is an arm of the Planning Commission that meets on a weekly basis with businesses wanting to come into Redford Township.

This board address appeals to zoning for the property. Appeals may cover variance, modification, or adjustment of requirements in the Zoning Ordinance. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 7 pm in the Redford Township Hall Board Room. The decision of the board is final and may only be appealed through Circuit Court.
