The Township Superintendent, appointed by the seven-member Board of Trustees, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the various operating departments of the Township, with the exception of the Clerk and Treasurer's offices.
The Superintendent reports to the members of the Township Board as a whole and is responsible for the preparation and administration of the annual budgets for all funds.
The Superintendent represents the Township in meetings and other communications with other local, state, and federal agencies. He / She prepares and submits recommendations to the Township Board for their consideration and is responsible for the enforcement of Township ordinances, regulations, and policies. Under the authority of the Township Board, the Superintendent executes agreements and other official documents.
Superintendent Donald Wood is a 30-year practitioner in the field of public administration and holds a B.A in Public Administration and a Master’s in Labor and Industrial Relations. Mr. Wood also holds certifications as Senior Professional in Human Resources and SHRM Senior Certified Professional. Prior to his appointment as Superintendent in February 2018, Mr. Wood also served as the Township’s Civil Service/Personnel Director since April 2016.
