Has Partnered with

The Redford Township Police Department is pleased to announce that we have formed a new partnership with Ring to help make Redford Township a safer community for our residents.

By entering into this partnership, the Redford Township Police Department will now be able to easily submit video requests directly to the owners of each Ring video system in the Township when they have possibly captured video footage that could help with active investigations.
Additionally, the Redford Township Police Department will now be able to view, post, and respond to crime and safety-related information and videos that are posted by our residents on the Ring Neighbors app.

It is important to note that the police department cannot view your live camera footage or your recordings.  This partnership with Ring only makes it easier for the department to communicate with our residents who have security video systems and to quickly acquire voluntarily released videos, which could help solve a crime.

We encourage all of our township residents to join the Ring Neighbors app no matter which security camera company/system they use, as videos can be shared on that app to inform your neighbors and the Redford Township Police Department of suspicious activity or of possible crimes that we all should be aware of.  If you would like to join the Neighbors app, click the appropriate link below:

OR
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ring.neighborhoods&hl=en_US

The Neighbors app should never be used to report active crimes to the police department.  The Redford Township Police Department does not monitor the Neighbors app 24/7, so please if you have an emergency, call 911 immediately.  If you have a question or concern feel free to call the department’s non-emergency line at (313) 387-2500.
