SHELTER
PERMITS
Rental of the
shelter with restrooms is available to Township residents or employees
of businesses located in the Township. Location of shelter is Capitol
Park. Rental fee is $30 weekdays and $45 weekends. A $50 refundable
deposit is necessary. This deposit must be a check (made payable to
Redford Township) and must be paid in advance of the requested reservation
date. Reservations must be made in person and proof of residency will
be required at time of reservation. For further information or for
a copy of the Shelter Fees and Requirements Policy, call the Parks
& Recreation office.
PARK RULES
- Parks are open
year-round from 8:00am to 11:00pm.
- Animals must
be kept on a leash. Owners must clean-up after their animals.
- No alcohol is
permitted in any park
Tree Program
Remember someone
you love by donating a tree to one of our parks. Maybe it is a special
birthday or anniversary. Maybe you would like to remember someone who
has passed away. Call the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Department
at (313)937-3260 to pick out a tree and a location. The cost is $200.
Fun Bags, Tug-o-War
Ropes, Sack Race Bags -
Each item is available for picnics and other assorted functions. Fun bags consist of the following items: a volleyball, volleyball net, soccer ball, football, playground ball, Frisbee, 2 plastic balls, 2 plastic bats, 2 softballs, 2 softball bats, 2 badminton racquets, 2 shuttlecocks, scoopers and magic mitts. Tug-o-war ropes come in two sizes either 50 feet or 100 feet. A $50 refundable deposit is necessary; this deposit must be a check. The deposit must be paid in advance of the requested reservation date by check so as to assure availability. The deposit will be refunded upon return of equipment, which shall be the next business day following reservation date.
FEES: $10 one item $20 two items $25 three items or more

provide and supervise Athletic Programs, Township Parks, Ice Arena,
Leisure Programs and Holiday Events.

Maintenance
The Redford Township Parks Maintenance Department is responsible
for all maintenance, equipment installation, repairs and daily
preparation of all 13 parks in Redford Township. This includes
maintenance of 100 acres of grass area, picnic areas, concession
stands, softball fields, baseball fields, little league fields,
soccer fields, play structures, swings and other equipment located
within the Redford Township Park system.
